Have you ever considered becoming a Paraeducator?

Have you ever considered becoming a Paraeducator? Are you patient and creative, and looking for a rewarding job making a difference in the lives of children? As a Paraeducator you provide direct support to students in need, either in small group settings or one to one.  Hillsboro-Deering Cooperative School District is seeking individuals interested in Paraeducator positions for the 21-22 school year. In order to become certified by the NH Department of Education as a Paraeducator you must have ONE of the following qualifications:

  • An associate of arts degree
  • Two years of college credits
  • A passing score on the ParaPro Assessment

If you are interested, and would like to take the ParaPro Assessment but need some help preparing for it, Hillsboro Deering School District, in partnership with Project Lift Adult Education, is offering a Paraeducator Preparation class. This class will meet on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:30 pm starting July 7th through August 16th at Project Lift (2nd Floor of the Fuller Library).  The cost of the course is $180.00 with full reimbursement upon hire by SAU #34.  Limited scholarships are available. Successful completion of the exam does not guarantee employment. For registration and any further information, please call Trish Bush at (603) 464-5285 or Stacey Vazquez at (603) 464-4466.
