Welcome New Educators!

Please join us in welcoming the 2021-2022 New Educator Cohort to SAU 34!

The following teachers join us at Hillsboro-Deering Elementary School:

Rebecca Bagtaz is a Special Educator coming to us from Hollis-Brookline School District.  Her husband, Michael, is a School Counselor at Hillsboro-Deering Middle School.

Faye Brown, a recent Plymouth State University graduate, will be a Long-Term substitute teacher in Grade 3.

Kaitlyn Gillett, a graduate of Hillsboro-Deering School District and New England College, will be teaching Grade 5 this year.  Her husband is a Physical Education teacher at Hillsboro-Deering High School.

Zachary Grupp, a recent Keene State college graduate, will also be teaching Grade 5.

Michael Silverstein is teaching Physical Education. He is coming to us from Andover Elementary School where he taught for 18 years.

The following teachers join us at Hillsboro-Deering Middle School:

Crystal Metric will be teaching Music.  She is coming to us from Fall Mountain School district.  Crystal was also a student teacher at HDMS in 2019-2020. Her husband, Andrew, is a Science teacher at Hillsboro-Deering High School.

Haley Goodwin will be teaching Social Studies at HDMS. She comes to us from Franklin High School.

The following teachers join us at Hillsboro-Deering High School:

Alexandria Gasperini joins us as a Science Teacher.  She comes to us from Hamilton Middle School, Denver, Colorado.

Lori Stumpfol will be a Special Educator at HDHS.  She comes to us from the ConVal School District.

The following teachers join us at Washington Elementary School:

Ann Belanger, the Early Learning Interventionist at WES, will also be teaching Music as a Long-term substitute.

Shirley Bergstresser joins us as a Grade K/1 Long-Term substitute.  Shirley has worked as a paraeducator at Hillsboro-Deering Elementary School for 17 years.

Bruce Johnson joins us as a part-time Physical Education teacher. He retired from Timberlane Middle School where he was a Physical Education teacher and Athletic Director for 23 years.

Emily Primrose will be joining WES as a part-time Library Media Specialist.  She will also be an Academic STEAM Interventionist at Hillsboro-Deering Elementary School.

Nancy Kowalski will be joining WES as a part-time Special Educator.  Nancy is also a Title 1 Interventionist at HDES.
